Meet Chris Faubert, Criminal Justice
What were you doing prior to enrolling at Pioneer pacific College? Before I enrolled at Pioneer Pacific College I was working at McDonald’s as a shift leader. I moved to Oregon August 2012.
Why did you choose Pioneer Pacific College? I choose Pioneer Pacific College because it was convenient.
Why did you choose the Criminal Justice Program? I picked the Criminal Justice Program because I have always been interested in working with the youth and doing my best to help them with better life choices. It took me awhile to be on the right side of the law but I finally got my act together.
What were some of your challenges/experience while a student at Pioneer Pacific College? Some of the challenges I faced while attending college was staying motivated and focused.
What was your job search process like? The job search process was frustrating and overwhelming. I applied and applied. Everything takes time. I had to stay patient and continue to look for what I graduated in and find the right fit for me.
What are some of the skills you are using in your current position that you gained while attending Pioneer Pacific College? I am using the knowledge and discipline I learned at my new job.
What are your long term goals? My long term goals are to move up in ranks at the Youth Correctional Facility and also become a full-time staff member.
What advice would you like to give other students at Pioneer Pacific College? Stay focused. Don’t give up. Be determined. Don’t let distractions interfere with your school life, trust me.
