Masters Degree in Criminal Justice

“In 1965, I went to work for the State of Oregon Highway Department, surveying for freeway construction in The Dalles and Portland. I came back to Salem and joined the Salem Police Department in 1969, and retired in 2003 after 35 year of law enforcement (over 20 years with the Salem police Department and 14 years with the Marion County District Attorney’s Office). That’s when I decided to go back to school and earn my Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice (currently completing my PhD in Criminal Justice). I began teaching college shortly after.

I love teaching and sharing experiences and knowledge with young people who are excited about learning. I am amazed about how little history of our country young people are taught. I feel an obligation to teach them about our collective past. I am currently working on a book, a historical look at those who are still missing from World War II in the Philippines, including my brother. My hobbies include photography, both digital and medium format film.”
