Programs I teach: Legal Studies, Criminal Justice
As a police officer with the Marion County Sheriff’s office, I had the privilege of instructing recruits at the Reserve Academy for six years. Teaching eager, responsive, enthusiastic students, launched my passion for instruction. Though it was my job to teach the recruits, they are the ones who impacted me.
I am honored to serve students. Watching scholars reach graduation and obtain positions in the criminal justice field gave me a tremendous sense of fulfillment and pride. Knowing that I had a minuscule part in the achievements of each individual student is gratifying.
As I experienced teaching at the Recruit Academy, student success continues to inspire me and the work I do.
