Pam Savant Honored

27 October 2012 By Emily Hohf

Pioneer Pacific College instructor Pam J. Savant was recently honored not once, but twice, for her outstanding work as a paralegal, business, and general education instructor.

In September, she received the Bridge Builder Award, which honors a faculty member who has gone “above and beyond” in the effort to Pioneer Pacific students, faculty and staff work together toward common goals.

Additionally, in October, Savant was named to the Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society, the highest honor available in a collegiate setting. The Alpha Beta Kappa emblem, the gold key, is awarded to one faculty and one staff member per year, at the fall graduation, in honor of their integrity and excellence in their profession. Pioneer staff member Etta Schwab was also honored.

Savant has been a faculty member at Pioneer Pacific since 2005, and was a student prior to that. She teaches a broad range of subjects, including ethics, English, psychology, sociology and her primary subject Paralegal program courses. And she is proud to be a member of the Pioneer Pacific team.

“I love the fact that our school is small enough that you can give your students some one-on-one attention,” Savant remarked. “You get to know them and some of them you keep touch with after they graduate.

“We can speak to individual needs and meet those needs and help our student’s succeed in the field that they choose to go in,” Savant continued. “We have a lot of success stories.”
