Health Information Technology – Associate of Applied Science
The Health Information Technology major provides a foundation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and computer applications that will enable students to manage patient records and databases for statistical reports. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the applications of health information technology principles to the healthcare environment. The coursework is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills to use, analyze, present, abstract, code, store, and retrieve healthcare data to support business decision making in healthcare. The combination is designed to prepare the student for health information technician careers in the healthcare industry.
