Medical Assistant with Limited X-Ray Associate Degree Program

Students that graduate from our Medical Assisting Program are trained for entry-level positions in physicians’ offices and medical clinics.

The program is intended to develop clinical skills that train students for positions such as Medical Assistants, Medical Receptionists, and Health Plan Coordinators.

Medical Assisting students at Pioneer Pacific College learn in the classroom as well as the laboratory, which simulates the typical facilities and equipment found in clinical and administrative areas of ambulatory care centers and physician’s offices.

Students will also receive direct experience through an 180-hour externship. With supervised guidance, this externship helps students become familiar with the working environments they are likely to experience in the medical field.

Limited X-Ray Training

X-Ray technology allows licensed professionals to look at the structure and shape of bones. X-Ray offers a fundamental view to the inside of the human body and to assist in the diagnosis of diseases, conditions, or injuries. Due to increasing job prospects, more and more people are choosing to become X-Ray technicians. X-Ray techs specialize in producing radiographs of various parts of a patient’s body for analysis by a doctor or radiologist.

Students may choose to add x-ray training to their credentials. This additional program emphasizes the development of x-ray skills regarding the head, spine, chest and upper and lower extremities. Safety measures, positioning techniques and film assessment are also covered. The X-ray component of this program is taught at the Health Career Institute in Wilsonville or at our Springfield, Oregon location.

John McKey“Pioneer Pacific was the right choice. My teachers are great and I've learned a whole lot. I'm looking to work in a VA Hospital because there's one in every major city and I could transfer to be closer to my family.“John McKey, Medical Assistant with Limited X-ray Alumni
